Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police have arrested five people and recovered cocaine valued at Rs 50,000 from them, here on Friday. They used to procure the drug from Goa and sell it in Mangaluru. Police have seized four cars, seven cellphones and Rs 1.2 lakh from them. A case has been registered and an investigation is on. The total value of the seized items which includes cars, cash and cellphones is Rs 19.5 lakh.The accused have been identified as Vijesh Kumar, 34, a resident of Kasaragod and businessman; Nithin, 35, a resident of Narimogaru and gym trainer; Santosh Kumar, 36, a resident of Bejai, who is into the real estate business; Sandeep Kumar, 34, a resident of Bondel, who works as a driver abroad and Rahul, 26, a resident of Bikarnakatte, who is into the real estate business.Police said acting on a tip-off, they raided various places where the accused used to sell cocaine to the rich, which included students as well.
