Mangaluru: Prayers of commuters hoping for early restoration of train connectivity to the state capital from this coastal town is unlikely to be answered soon. Mangaluru-Bengaluru trains , as per the railway schedule, remain suspended till September 15.Mysuru division of South Western Railway has seen 68 landslips in a 56 km stretch between the Subramanya Road and Sakleshpur Ghat section of the Hassan-Mangaluru railway line. While debris has been cleared in 40 locations, more than 1 lakh cubic metres is yet to be cleared from the remaining 28 locations.Mysuru divisional authorities of SWR said railway staff, local labourers and earth excavating machines employed for the purpose are working round the clock to restore the line. Keeping in mind the gravity of the situation, SWR has been forced to cancel, or partially cancel trains till further notice. Train services to Bengaluru have been disrupted since August 13 when rain started lashing the ghat section, which is prone to landslips.Accordingly, train 16517/16523 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar express September 2-4, September 9-11 is cancelled. Train 16511/16513 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar express on September 1, September 5-8, September 12-14 is cancelled. Train 16512/16514 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru express journey from September 2-5 and September 9-12 is cancelled. Train 16518/16524 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru express from September 6-8, and September 13-15 is cancelled.Train 16575 Yesvantpur to Mangalore Junction express on September 2, 4, 6, and September 9, 11 and 13 will run between Yesvantpur to Hassan and is partially cancelled between Hassan and Mangalore Junction, the authorities said. Train 16515 Yesvantpur to Karwar express journey commencing on September 3, 5, 7 and September 10, 12 and 14 too will run between Yesvantpur to Hassan and is partially cancelled between Hassan to Karwar.Train 16576 Karwar to Yesvantpur express on September 3, 5 and 7 and September 10, 12 and 14 will run between Hassan and Yesvantpur and is partially cancelled between Mangalore Junction to Hassan. Train 16516 Karwar to Yesvantpur express journey on September 4, 6, 8 and September 11, 13, 15 too will run between Hassan and Yesvantpur, and is partially cancelled between Karwar to Hassan, added SWR Mysuru divisional authorities.Train 06515 Yesvantpur - Hassan Jan Sadharan Special will run on September 8, 15 with existing timing up to Hassan of train 16515 and train 06576 Hassan-Yesvantpur Jan Sadharan Special will run on September 2 and 9 with existing timing from Hassan to Yesvantpur of train 16576.
