Applications called for temporary licence for cracker sale

Sasikanth Senthil S., Deputy Commissioner, has invited applications for issuance of temporary licence for sale of crackers in the district, except for Mangaluru, for Diwali and other festivals. Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumara said the temporary licence will not be issued for outlets proposed in densely populated areas. According to a press release, the applications for issuance of temporary LE5 license for stocking and selling crackers were called for two months before the festival. The applicants have to submit two photographs of the land where they propose to set up the outlet to sell crackers. If the land belongs to the government, the applicant should name the department that owns the land and submit a copy of no-objection certificate.

These applications will be processed in 30 days. The applications have to be submitted before October 6. The applicants have to submit two photographs of the land where they propose to set up the outlet to sell crackers. They should also submit four blueprints of the design of the outlet, four copies of the record of the land, and four copies of permission of the land owner if it is a private land. If the land belongs to the government, the applicant should name the department that owns the land and submit a copy of no-objection certificate. They should also get NOCs from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, the police, local body and tahsildar. Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumara said the temporary licence will not be issued for outlets proposed in densely populated areas. It will be issued with specific conditions. The licensee will be asked to submit an affidavit stating that he will be responsible in case of any eventualities at the store.
