Mangaluru: Three-day regional film festival at SAC from September 21

MANGALURU: Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy , Bengaluru in association with department of information and public relation, St Aloysius College is organising a three-day regional language film festival at the LCRI auditorium of the college here from September 21. Noting that the festival was free, he said those willing to be part of the same should register in advance by calling either Saraswathi Kumari, HoD of Kannada (9448000478) or Vishwanath Badikan, lecturer, department of Kannada, SAC (86183-61841) at the earliest. Films will be screened at 9.30 am, noon and 2.30 pm except the third film on opening day, which will be screened at 5 pm.Rev Fr Praveen Martis, principal, SAC said this was the first regional film festival that the Academy was organising under a decentralised arrangement for such festivals. In all, nine feature films from Tulu, Beary, Konkani, Kodava languages and one Kannada film 'Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale Kasaragod ' will be screened during the festival.Na Damodar Shetty, convener of the festival told reporters here on Wednesday that the film festival was aimed at drawing youth to see and appreciate films. Day two fare includes(Tulu),(Konkani) and(Kodava) followed by(Tulu),(Banjara) and(Tulu) on the final day.
