Integrity of Karnataka cannot be undermined: Datta

MOODBIRI: The achievement of a monolithic state that Karnataka is, with its perennial integrity, cannot be undermined by anyone, noted former MLA Y S V Datta . Against 21.7% poverty prevalent in the state, the north district accounts for around 40%, and explains the prevalent economic disparity. “Its religious philosophy attracted more people to embrace Sufism, and it steadily proliferated around the state. It is this dignity that has been earned over 1,500 years, which will never be belittled at any cost, he noted.Expressing this view in a session on ‘Akhanda Karnataka’ on Saturday, day two of the 15th edition of Alva’s Nudisiri, Datta said the prime focus is regarding distribution of wealth and poverty around Karnataka. Sufism is a religion based on the concept of love, the love with fellow beings and lastly the love with the ultimate or the creator,” he said.“Sufism is the religion which accepted poverty.

Several poets straddling various centuries such as Pampa Durgasimha , Lakshmisha, Sarvajna , Da Ra Bendre and K V Putta aka Kuvempu have laid the foundation of its chequered status. Against 21.7% poverty prevalent in the state, the north district accounts for around 40%, and explains the prevalent economic disparity. “A credible solution can be provided only through equal distribution of wealth and opportunity,” he noted.In another session on ‘Karnataka Darshan: Adhyatma Parampare’, Ramzan Darga, a thinker focussing on the impact of Sufism on the masses in the state, said, it is one of the complete religions. “Its religious philosophy attracted more people to embrace Sufism, and it steadily proliferated around the state. Sufism is a religion based on the concept of love, the love with fellow beings and lastly the love with the ultimate or the creator,” he said.“Sufism is the religion which accepted poverty. It is the religion which does not believe in idol worship,” Darga said, while stressing on issues such as chaos going on in and around the world in the name of religion, caste, and creed. The thinker wrapped up his thoughts by adding to it a glimpse of Sufism, and urged all to follow the principle of humanism and worshipping the God within, rather than running behind materialistic aspects of religion.
