10,000 more voters in Udupi for 2019 Lok Sabha polls

UDUPI: With 10,273 new voter names, Udupi district will have 9,90,773 voters for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections . Taluk-wise, there were 2,22,542 voters in Byndoor assembly constituency, 2,00,101 voters in Kundapur, 2,05,566 voters in Udupi, 1,81,178 voters in Kaup and 1,81,386 voters in Karkala. As many as 7,099 names have been deleted.Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis said it was the revised voters list for the year 2019. Deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis asked residents to make use of the facility.Voters can call and get clarification related to voters list or related queries by calling 1950. The voters list has been updated based on the changes made till January 1, 2019.

Taluk-wise, there were 2,22,542 voters in Byndoor assembly constituency, 2,00,101 voters in Kundapur, 2,05,566 voters in Udupi, 1,81,178 voters in Kaup and 1,81,386 voters in Karkala. As many as 7,099 names have been deleted.Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis said it was the revised voters list for the year 2019. “Among the 10,273 new names added, 4,793 are youth, and 3,374 names were amended. As many as 755 changed their address under form 8A. The voters list has been updated based on the changes made till January 1, 2019. However voters will be given the chance to add names in the list or make any further changes till nominations are filed by the candidates. Before the polls, a sub-list will be released,” she said. National Voters Day will be celebrated on January 25 at the district and taluk levels. In Udupi, it will be held at Town Hall. Programmes were organised to make the youth aware about their right to vote. The newly-enrolled youth voters will be given their voter identification cards.In view of the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, a district level call centre was established at the DC’s office, Manipal.The centre was established to address the voters’ concerns after the publication of the draft roll.
