Dharmasthala: Five people received minor injuries when a part of the roof at the Panchamaha Vaibhava vedike collapsed due to heavy winds on Thursday. The incident took place when the gathering that was witnessing the Panchamaha Vaibhava enactment had left for lunch, and a handful of them were waiting in the area, a statement from Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, stated.Superintendent of police B M Laxmiprasad said five people received minor injuries when the roof of the Panchamaha Vaibhava vedike collapsed. Those injured are Praniha Jain, 19, Chandravathi,46, Pranav, 22, Vidyananda Jain, 52, and Sandhya, 35, all from Belthangady. The SP said no one got stuck under the collapsed part of the roof, and no event was taking place at the venue when the incident took place, as a section of media highlighted. The injured have been admitted to SDM Hospital in Ujire for treatment.
