On March 21, they arrested Shashi Poojary, Ravichandra Poojary, and Dhanaraj Poojary in Bengaluru. An Udupi DCIB team led by inspector C Kiran conducted searches at different places with regards to the case. With the information given by them, the team arrested Dhanaraj Salian and Ullas at Malpe at 7am on Friday.Police said those getting calls demanding protection money can contact the nearest police station or call the police control room on 0820-2526444. Regarding the same, a case was registered at Brahmavar police station. Udupi: A police team from the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) have arrested five associates of underworld don Bannanje Raja for allegedly threatening businessman Ratnakar D Shetty, 69, a resident of Upuru KJ Road here.The arrested are Dhanaraj Poojary, 26, a resident of Katapady forest gate, Shashi Poojary alias Shadow, 28, his brother Ravichandra Poojary alias Vicki Poojary, 30, a resident of Mangaluru, Dhanaraj Salian alias Dhanu Kola, 30, and Ullas Shenoy, 27, a resident of Malpe.Ratnakar received a call on his mobile on March 13, and the caller demanded “protection money”.
