Kudroli temple tank to be named after Bengalurean industrialist

MANGALURU: 'Pushkarini', the tank of Kudroli Sri Gokarnatheswhara Temple where idols of Sri Sharada and Navadurges are immersed at the end of Navaratri celebrations every year, will be named after Bengalurean industrialist and Ediga community leader J P Narayanaswamy (65).The garden maintained by the temple in its premises near the tank will also be named after Narayanaswamy, who passed away in Bengaluru recently on February 9. The announcement was made by Temple administrative chief B Janardhana Poojary on Saturday.Poojary told reporters that the tank and garden have been named after the industrialist and community leader considering his contributions towards the temple during its renovation and in other development works. "Narayanaswamy has contributed immensely for the temple during its renovation. His contributions towards Ediga community in the state are significant.

The festival will begin with a dhwajarohana on February 19 at 11.42am. Various religious rituals including Maharudrahoma, Maharudrabhisheka, Shathasiyalabhisheka, rathotsava, Vishnubali utsava, Shivabali, Mahashivaratri jagarane bali, kattepooje, keredeepa, mantapapooje, Bhootabali, balipooje, avabhritha snana and dhwajavarohana will be held at the temple during the festival.
