Rituals mark Brahmakalashotsava

The Brahmakalashotsava in connection with the renovation of the platform (pauli) surrounding the sanctum sanctorum of the 800-year-old Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple was held here on Thursday. The Brahmakalashotsava and renovation of the pauli were among the programmes the Pejawar seer had intended to perform during his historic fifth Paryaya period. The other seers who participated in the ceremony are Vidyasagara Tirtha Swami of Krishnapur Mutt, Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar Mutt, Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Palimar Mutt, Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Pejawar Mutt, and Ishapriya Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Admar Mutt. A host of religious rituals were held including the rajatha kalasha and brahmakalasha sthapane, kalashadhivasa puje, pradhana homa, purushasukta homa, Krishnamantra homa, and Vishnu yaga.

A host of religious rituals were held including the rajatha kalasha and brahmakalasha sthapane, kalashadhivasa puje, pradhana homa, purushasukta homa, Krishnamantra homa, and Vishnu yaga. The important ritual of brahmakumbhabhisheka to the idol of Lord Krishna was performed by the seers of the ashta mutts or eight mutts at the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple at 7.55 a.m. All the ceremonies were held under the guidance of Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt, who also performed the maha puje. The other seers who participated in the ceremony are Vidyasagara Tirtha Swami of Krishnapur Mutt, Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar Mutt, Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Palimar Mutt, Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Pejawar Mutt, and Ishapriya Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Admar Mutt. Meals were served to a large number of devotees at five places, including the Rajangana parking space during the Maha Anna Santharpane. The Brahmakalashotsava and renovation of the pauli were among the programmes the Pejawar seer had intended to perform during his historic fifth Paryaya period. The pauli was renovated as the previous structure was in a poor shape. The previous style was followed while replacing the roof. But the height of the roof has been increased in order to provide better ventilation and flow of air in the temple.
