If by any chance, drinking water was not supplied to any ward on the dates stated above, the CMC would supply water to that ward through tankers on that day only. Hence, it had been decided to supply water to the city once in four days till the monsoon sets in. However, now the water in these large holes were estimated to meet the drinking water needs of the city for only for seven days and there had been no heavy rain so far. Since the water in the Swarna river had gone down steeply and was enough only for seven days, the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) has decided to supply drinking water in the city once in four days from Wednesday till the monsoon sets in. Hitherto, water was being supplied in the city on alternate days.
