Pramod Muthalik, Sri Rama Sene’s founder, leads a protest in Bengaluru on Sunday against the Iftar event.
Mohan Bhat, secretary of Mangaluru division of Sri Rama Sene, said the Hindu community held Vishwesha Tirtha Swami in high esteem, and the Sene was not against the Iftar or ‘Souharda Koota’ that he had organised.
The Iftar was held on June 24 at the Annabrahma dinning hall in the Sri Krishna Mutt-temple complex.
Protesting the Iftar event organized by Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt, members of Sri Rama Sene (SRS) and Hindu Janajagriti Samiti (HJS) offered prayers to a photograph of Lord Krishna and sang bhajans at the Clock Tower here on Sunday.
‘Purify with cow urine’Vijay Kumar, convener, district unit of HJS, said the Samiti was opposed to both the Iftar and namaz.
