Inter-college competitions from August

The inter-collegiate competitions of Mangalore University to select students for the South Zone Inter University Youth Festival, 2017, will commence next month. Addressing presspersons, he said the competitions in five categories would commence from August 17 and end on August 31. The literary competitions would be conducted on August 17 at Rosario College, Pandeshwar, in Mangaluru. The music competitions would be held at St. Philomena College in Puttur on August 22 and 23. The dance competitions would be arranged at Alva’s College in Moodbidri on August 30 and 31.

The festival is usually conducted in October-November, said Barkuru Udaya, Director, Directorate of Student Welfare, University. Addressing presspersons, he said the competitions in five categories would commence from August 17 and end on August 31. They would be conducted in five colleges. The literary competitions would be conducted on August 17 at Rosario College, Pandeshwar, in Mangaluru. It would be followed by fine arts competitions at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College in Ujire. The music competitions would be held at St. Philomena College in Puttur on August 22 and 23. The theatre competitions would be conducted at Bhuvanendra College in Karkala. The dance competitions would be arranged at Alva’s College in Moodbidri on August 30 and 31. Mr. Udaya said both UG and PG students in colleges and on the university campus could participate. The jurisdiction of the university covered Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu with 220 colleges and more than one lakh students.
