The Kotathattu Gram Panchayat and the Award Selection Committee should reconsider its decision. Shobha Karandlaje, MP, has opposed the presentation of the Kota Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti to the actor and film-maker Prakash Raj. In a release here on Monday, Ms. Karandlaje said that the award should not be given to Mr. Raj because he had criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She would not participate in the award ceremony, she said.
