Dhaba owner dies of heart attack, family blames power officials

Bijnor: A 45-year-old dhaba (roadside eatery) owner, Ram Bharose, died of a massive cardiac arrest on Friday hours after a team of power department officials severed the power connection to his joint on Joya road in Amroha district. They alleged that the officials had publicly insulted him for not paying his dues. When he reached home on Friday night, he complained of pain in the chest.

Bijnor: A 45-year-old dhaba (roadside eatery) owner, Ram Bharose, died of a massive cardiac arrest on Friday hours after a team of power department officials severed the power connection to his joint on Joya road in Amroha district. Bharose owed Rs 13,000 to the power department.However, his family blamed the power department officials for his death. They alleged that the officials had publicly insulted him for not paying his dues. On Saturday, his family along with villagers took Bharose’s body to Joya road, placed it there and staged a dharna against the power department for two hours.Circle officer of Amroha Jitendra Kumar and executive engineer of the Power Corporation Ashok Kumar Chaurasiya rushed to the scene and pacified the agitators. They assured them that a fair probe would be conducted and if any official was found erring, strict action would be taken against him.Chaurasiya said, “The connection was cut off in the morning while he died in the night. All allegations are baseless.” He denied that his staff had misbehaved with Bharose.The deceased was a resident of Badwala village under Amroha police station.Kazal Kumari, Bharose’s daughter, alleged, “On Friday afternoon, a team of Power Corporation raided our dhaba and cut off our power supply because of pending dues. They also They not misbehaved with my father. My father took it to heart. When he reached home on Friday night, he complained of pain in the chest. Soon after, he died of a massive heart attack.”The agitators are demanding strict action against the Power Corporation officials and compensation for the family.
