Bijnor: A 19-year-old youth was set on fire allegedly by his sister-in-law and her family members over a family dispute. The family members of the girl allegedly barged into the house and poured kerosene over Mohammad Navab and put him on fire. The youth was burnt over 30% and admitted to a district hospital for treatment. On the other side, family members of the girl debunked all allegations and claimed that the youth has set himself on fire. The incident occurred at Mahmoodpur village of Nahtaur police station area on Saturday.According to complaint filed by the father of youth, Raes Ahmed, “My son Navab was alone in the house. In the meanwhile, my daughter-in-law, Gulshan along with her brother and father came to my house and poured kerosene over him. When shouted for help, neighbours reached there and rescued him. I have admitted him in district hospital for treatment.”On the other hand, Gulshan debunked the allegations and claimed that Navab set himself on fire to frame us in false case.On being asked, Nahtaur station house officer Jai Kiran Yadav said, “Police are probing the matter and a case has been registered against the accused under relevant section. However, it seems a matter of love affair.” According to police sources, it is a dispute related to the same family.
