They also seized 148 kg namkeen and 200 litre of milk, which were destroyed on the spot as FSDA officials suspected that they might be adulterated.The FSDA is also on the lookout for gujiyas, namkeens and cooking oils that might be adulterated. “As the festive time draws near, instances of adulteration in food items shoot up. To keep a check on adulteration in food items being sold during Holi, teams of FSDA raided food outlets,” said Archana Dheeran, designated officer, FSDA.One sample of mixed milk (cow and buffalo milk) each was taken from Mukesh Chand’s shop near Bhola ki Jhaal, Akhtar Ali’s shop in Siwal Khas , Mohd Jaahit’s shop at Bhola road and Mahaveer Singh’s shop at Bhola road. Also, 200 litre of milk, 150 litre from Jaahit’s shop (worth Rs 6,000) and 50 litre from Mahaveer’s shop (worth Rs 2,000) were destroyed at the spot. Also, 148 Kg namkeen suspected to contain non-permitted colour met with the same fate. “We seized and destroyed 200 litre milk and 148Kg namkeen as they looked suspicious,” said Dheeran.Also, one sample each of paneer and cream were seized from Abloo’s shop in Nangla Khumba , and three samples each of namkeen mixture, namkeen matar and Lala ji namkeen were taken from Super Foods in Mohkampur Industrial area. One sample of chamcham sweet was also taken from Ikram’s shop in Zakir colony area.
