Verma and 87 other agitators were presented in a district court on Monday.“We have filed chargesheets in five cases registered by police against Verma and 87 others at Kankerkhera police station.

We are also in the process of filing chargesheets in six other cases lodged at Nauchandi, Civil Lines, Mawana and Medical police stations where Verma is an accused,” Maan Singh Chauhan, superintendent of police (city), said.The SP (city) is heading a 15-member special investigative team (SIT) formed in the aftermath of Bharat Bandh violence on April 2 to probe cases of violence, vandalism and arson.

According to the police, a total of 25 cases have been lodged against Verma at different police stations across the district.Verma was arrested by the local police on April 2 after he was dubbed to be the main conspirator of the violence, vandalism and arson that had caught the city off guard.
