The investigating team later visited Aakanksha College to inquire about these youths and also went to KK Jain College in Khatauli, where the four youngsters had appeared for their semester exams in January this year. MEERUT: Following allegations that a proxy candidate appeared in semester examination for Kathua accused Vishal Jangotra, Meerut’s Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) has formed a three-member committee to probe the incident.“We have approved a three-member committee to look into the criminal allegations of impersonation following which appropriate action will be taken,” vice chancellor NK Taneja said on Tuesday.Jangotra’s family had made claims that Vishal, a student of BSc (Agriculture) at Aakansha College in Muzaffarnagar’s Meerapur , was appearing for his semester exams in KK Jain College in Khatauli at the time when an 8-year-old girl was abducted, gang-raped and murdered in Jammu’s Kathua in the second week of January this year. This was contrary to the claims of Jammu SIT probing the case.According to J&K police, Vishal Jangotra was “invited” to come all the way from Meerut to “satisfy his lust” and is among seven others responsible for the horrific gang-rape and murder of the minor girl, whose mutilated body was found in the woods of Kathua on January 17.Vishal is the son of Sanji Ram , who according to the J&K police chargesheet, is the mastermind in the case and had instigated his son, nephew and six others to execute the ghastly act to drive out the nomadic Bakkarwal community from Kathua.TOI has already reported that a team of Jammu SIT, probing the case, had sought academic and attendance records of four students, including Vishal Jangotra.
