Muzaffarnagar: In meeting ahead of Eid, district administration and police on Thursday decided to book people disturbing peace under the stringent national Security Act (NSA). SSP Anant Dev Tiwari said, “Watertight security arrangement will be put in place on the occasion of Eid. Anyone found indulging in mischief or circulating inflammatory material will attract stringent action, including a case under NSA.”During the meeting, district magistrate Rajeev Sharma asked the civic body and the power department to keep the city clean and ensure uninterrupted supply. “We will also appeal to residents to not allow their domesticated animals to roam on streets on the day of the festival,” the SSP said.In the past few days, several cases of people circulating inflammatory content on social media have surfaced and arrests have been made in this regard. DM Rajeev Sharma said, “I have requested both the communities to discourage mischievous elements and not be influenced by inflammatory content on social media.”
