One booked for ‘objectionable’ post in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: A day after Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind asked officials to impose National Security Act against those involved in posting of ‘objectionable’ messages on Prophet Mohammad in social media, one more such post went viral on Tuesday where the accused has been booked by the police.Police have booked Khem Singh after few Muslims filed a complaint at Civil Line police station. The police said Singh is yet to be arrested.Salman Abbasi, one of the complainants, alleged that Singh on Tuesday shared an objectionable content on Prophet Mohammad in a WhatsApp group, where both of them are members.“Khem Singh has posted a very shameful and objectionable post. A case has been registered against Singh under IT Act. A probe is on into the matter.”It should be noted that this is the fourth such case where people have been booked for allegedly sharing objectionable posts on Prophet Mohammad.On June 11, two separate cases were registered against Ankur Kumar in Purkazi and Harsh Kumar in Bhopa police stations.

Ankur and Amardeep were arrested while Harsh Kumar is still at large.Deoband based Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind had expressed extreme anger over repeatedly uploading objectionable posts against Prophet Muhammad.West UP secretary of the organization met the SSP on Tuesday and demanded National Security Act (NSA) on those responsible for uploading such posts that “hurt religious sentiments of the entire Muslim community”.
