Meerut: As students in the state’s government schools , who recently resumed classes after their summer break, have still not been provided with the school uniforms that should have reached them by July 2, the state education department authorities have directed all basic shiksha adhikaris to post the status distribution of school uniforms daily on the education department’s online portal. The instructions from the education departmentalso said that in case there is a delay in posting details online, action will be taken against the basic shiksha adhikari(s) concerned.“It should be noted that money for school uniforms has already been sent to the bank accounts of school management committees, and instructions were issued to stitch the uniforms and start distributing them from July 2. To monitor if the uniforms are at all being distributed, all of you are instructed to see that a daily report of the status of distributed uniforms is uploaded on the online portal basiceduschemes.in,” read the order issued by Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, UP education director (basic).It’s worth mentioning that school uniforms, text books and other items that the government provides to the school students for free, routinely get delayed every year. This is in spite the fact that sessions of government schools were shifted a month back to April from July, in order to compete with private schools. The purpose is defeated as books and other items hardly ever reach the government schools in time.“The status report of whether the school uniforms have been distributed should be uploaded daily or action will be taken against the basic siksha adhikaris concerned. This is being done to closely monitor the progress in uniform distribution. Any lackadaisical attitude in this regard will not be tolerated,” said Singh.
