Releasing a press note, Rai said, “There are some institutions which do not have affiliations to run high schools or intermediate classes. But they are enrolling students for high schools and intermediate classes anyway.”Rai added, “Some businessmen set up one institute and get permission to run high school and intermediate classes in it. According to Bijnor district magistrate Atal Rai, these schools will be shortlisted and “amanya school” (unrecognised school) will be written in red across their walls. Also, some businessmen get permission for running a school from class I to class VIII and later apply for permission to run classes from IX to XII. Later they set up other schools in faraway places without taking any permission for them.

Bijnor: In a bid to check the mushrooming of educational institutes in the state that run without affiliation and officially enroll their students at other institutes that are affiliated to a board, a task force will be constituted to take strict action against such schools. According to Bijnor district magistrate Atal Rai, these schools will be shortlisted and “amanya school” (unrecognised school) will be written in red across their walls. Officials will also make parents and students aware of such schools so that they are not duped and if anyone enrolls their ward in a fraudulent school, they will be fined.DM Rai said that the decision was taken after several complaints of institutions enrolling their students at other institutes for exams started pouring in. When a school runs illegally and is not affiliated to any board, it registers its students at other affiliated schools in lieu of a certain amount of money. Releasing a press note, Rai said, “There are some institutions which do not have affiliations to run high schools or intermediate classes. Also, some businessmen get permission for running a school from class I to class VIII and later apply for permission to run classes from IX to XII. When they fail to get the permit, they continue teaching the students at their institute but have them enroll for exams from other institutes. They are spinning money off this business, which is illegal and unauthorized.”The DM added that if an official failed to stop the functioning of an unauthorised school in their area, they would be taken to task.
