Meerut: Rajendra Tyagi, an inspector posted as SHO at Kharkhauda police station here in Meerut made an adverse entry against himself after an incident of cow slaughter was reported in his area. Hailed as an upright cop, Tyagi has made it a point to act against any erring policeman if a crime takes place in his police station’s jurisdiction.“If a theft is reported, it is a failure of the beat constable. Likewise, police outpost in charge will be held accountable for any robbery in his area and so on. I made an entry against myself after cow slaughter was reported in the area,” Tyagi said, adding that this act would send a strong message among his subordinates that no one would be spared if they were careless or negligent in fighting crime.Following a complaint, a total of 19 people were named in the cow slaughter case that was lodged on Saturday at Kharkhauda police station, including an adverse general diary entry against Tyagi and six other policemen.The act has attracted the attention of senior police officers who praised Tyagi for his uprightness. “The inspector acknowledged his inadvertent negligence before any other senior office intervened.
