Notice to edu institutes to rectify students’ docus

“In June, higher authorities sent a letter informing us that Aadhaar cards of 11,000 students were not matching with educational documents. Fresh notices were served on principals of institutes concerned again on Saturday.Giving details, district minority welfare officer Praveen Kumar Mishra, said, “The government is running a scholarship and fee reimbursement scheme for all students, including minority students. Of the 11,000 mismatch documents, we received rectified data of only 2,000,” he added. Last year, around 80,000 minority students had applied online for availing of the scheme. However education documents of the students were up to the mark.“A letter to the effect was issued to principals concerned but no action was taken to rectify the mistake.

Bijnor: Over 300 degree colleges, intermediate and high schools may face disciplinary action for not rectifying the mismatch found between educational documents and Aadhaar cards of 11,000 of the 80,000 minority students studying at these institutions and availing of fee reimbursement under minority student scholarship scheme of the state government.Now, the district minority welfare department has warned these institutions that if the anomaly is not rectified within a week, they will be blacklisted. Fresh notices were served on principals of institutes concerned again on Saturday.Giving details, district minority welfare officer Praveen Kumar Mishra, said, “The government is running a scholarship and fee reimbursement scheme for all students, including minority students. Last year, around 80,000 minority students had applied online for availing of the scheme. The benefit is given to students from Class IX to higher education after verification of their documents, based on merit.”However, a lot of ineligible students availed of the scheme, he said. “In June, higher authorities sent a letter informing us that Aadhaar cards of 11,000 students were not matching with educational documents. They should be corrected. There was mismatch in date of birth and father’s name, etc. However education documents of the students were up to the mark.“A letter to the effect was issued to principals concerned but no action was taken to rectify the mistake. Of the 11,000 mismatch documents, we received rectified data of only 2,000,” he added.
