Burglars decamp with cash, valuables from bizman’s house

Meerut: A group of unidentified burglars decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs 80 lakh from city-based trader Balvinder Singh’s house in posh Sheelkunj colony in Pallavpuram. Neighbours reported the incident to the family after they saw the entrance to the house unlocked on Saturday morning.Earlier, Singh’s mother-in-law used to stay at the house, but was moved to Shastri Nagar after she fell ill. The family is yet to calculate the value of the missing items, police said.According to officials, the family was living in their Shastri Nagar house and the burgled housed was locked since the past one week. Forensic teams were also called in to examine the crime scene. According to Singh, who deals in bulletproofing of equipment, he owns a collection of expensive watches and pens which are now missing.He claimed that his watches and pen are worth over Rs 30 lakh.

Forensic teams were also called in to examine the crime scene.
