Two men shoot at cigarette vendor over Rs 1 dispute

MEERUT: Two men shot at a small cigarette vendor over a minor dispute at Hapur Adda crossing in Meerut on Friday night. According to police, after buying two cigarettes costing Rs 10, the two men gave Rs 9 to Mohammed Anees, the shop owner.This infuriated Anees, 35, who got into an argument with the duo. However, an FIR has been registered in the matter against two unidentified persons under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder). Soon, one of the men took out a country-made pistol and aimed at the shop owner’s head.However, Anees ducked just in time and the bullet pierced his hand. Efforts are being made to trace them.”

According to police, the two attackers are residents of Islamabad locality and often come to Anees’s shop to buy cigarettes.According to station house officer of Nauchandi police station, Brijesh Kumar Sharma, “The two accused men are yet to be identified. However, an FIR has been registered in the matter against two unidentified persons under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder). Efforts are being made to trace them.”
