Bijnor: At least 30 pilgrims from Nepal returning from Punjab’s Vyas ashram in a hired bus were injured after their vehicle rammed into a tractor trolley carrying cement sacks on Delhi-Pauri highway on Monday morning. Around 5:30am, the mini bus bound for Nepal, with 40 passengers on board hit the tractor. The injured were rushed to the district hospital for primary treatment.According to police, all the pilgrims hail from Kailali district of Nepal and had gone to Vyas ashram in Punjab few days ago on a religious pilgrimage. On Monday morning, they were returning back home. The accident took place on Delhi-Pauri highway when it collided with a tractor trolley coming from the opposite side.After getting wind of the incident, police rushed to the spot and all the injured were taken in different ambulances to the district hospital.Out of the 40 pilgrims, around 18 were women. One of the woman, Hema (40), received severe injuries and her leg bone was fractured. The injured were discharged by the district hospital doctors after being given treated. According to a doctor, most of the pilgrims sustained minor injuries.Bijnor station house officer Bijendra Rana said, “All the injured were from Nepal and were discharged after given treatment. One of the women, Hema received severe injuries but fortunately, she is out of danger. The accident occurred on Delhi-Pauri highway on Monday morning.”
