Meerut: A six-member committee has been formed to take action against illegal occupants of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial ( LLRM ) Medical college’s residential quarters. Authorities say that out of the total 550 residential quarters here, at least 100 of them have been occupied illegally. A list of such illegally occupied houses is being prepared so that a notice can be issued to the occupants to vacate the houses.“A six-member committee has been formed to take action against illegal occupants of LLRM Medical College residential quarters. The quarters, which are occupied by class four/class three employees and junior resident doctors have to be verified to see who all are living in these. The team will have to verify these details, prepare a report and submit it, so that action can be taken accordingly,” read the order issued by Dr RC Gupta, principal, LLRM Medical College. It should be noted that in the past too, such committees have been made but no action was taken in the matter. The fresh committee has been formed after quashing all the previous committees, so that the matter can be taken up now.“Some people have retired long ago, but continue to live here. Others have given the quarters to their relatives, which is again illegal. In this backdrop, an investigation has been set up and such houses are being identified so that no illegal occupants can stay here. Once the houses are identified, notices will be issued to them to vacate the property or they will have to face legal action,” said Dr Ajeet Chaudhary, chief medical superintendent, LLRM, who is also a part of the committee.
