Bijnor: District Congress committee protested against skyrocketing prices of diesel and petrol in Bijnor city by adopting a novel strategy. They hired a buffalo and two snake-charmers to prove their point. RLD workers also joined their march.Interestingly, a buffalo led the procession followed by two snake-charmers. The snake charmers were playing flute in front of the buffalo though their music had no effect on the buffalo.District president of Congress, Dungar Singh said, “The Bharat bandh was aimed at raising a banner against the anti-people policies of the BJP government and making the people aware about core issues. We have demanded that fuel prices be curbed and it should be brought under GST and a joint parliamentary committee should probe alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal. Besides, the depreciating value of rupee is also a core issue in our protest.”On the other side, Samajwadi Party also organized a protest march and handed over a memorandum to ADM Vinod Kumar.
