Meerut: After pictures of two women constables, identified as Sangeeta and Sureshna, who got into a scuffle in a police station here went viral on social media on Tuesday, Meerut SSP suspended both of them.The two constables deployed at Mahila Thana were seen pulling each other’s hair open. They had allegedly gotten into a scuffle after one of them circulated a picture of the other’s relative on WhatsApp, describing her as “missing”. However, the picture of the girl in question was shared between the two initially to find a groom for her.“Meerut SSP Akhilesh Meena has suspended the two women constables, Sangeeta and Sureshna, for indulging in a scuffle at the police station. A report in this matter was sought from me and I have submitted it to the higher-ups. It was then that the action was taken against them,” said Neha Chauhan, station house officer, Mahila Thana, Meerut.On Monday, the two women constable – whose husbands are friends – had gotten into a scuffle, after one of them circulated the picture of the other’s relative on WhatsApp, saying that the girl had gone missing. It was only later when the message somehow reached the girl’s family that the matter came to light. This ended in the confrontation of the two constables, because the picture of the girl in question was shared between both to find a suitable match for her.
