Muzaffarnagar: ‘Rebel’ UP minister and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader Om Prakash Rajbhar has thrown his weight behind the idea of splitting UP into smaller states though he restricted the count to 3 instead of 4 parts. BJP’s Rajnath Singh too had supported the cause when he was party president. "On being asked about his alliance with BJP in the next general election, he quipped, “We have an agreement with them till 2024 so we will with them till then.” I support the demand to split the state into three divisions and if needed, it should be divided into four.”Meanwhile, expressing his views on the SC/ST Act, he said, “We are with the Supreme Court’s order and Mayawati had also brought an ordinance on SC/ST Act, in which no action can be taken on an accused until circle officer of the area conducts a probe. The issue of dividing the state into four parts has time and again emerged as a poll issue with BSP leader Mayawati as its biggest votary.Citing examples of states like Chattisgarh and Jharkhand carved out of MP and Bihar respectively, Rajbhar claimed that these states are on the path of development.Rajbhar said, “Congress had raised a slogan “Chota Pariwar Sukhi Pariwar.” I also believe in it.
