Bijnor: A joint team of Food Safety and Drugs Authority (FSDA) comprising officials of three districts raided a medical store in Bijnor’s Noorpur on Monday and seized fake and intoxicated medicines . During the raid, the medical store owner escaped. A case has been registered against the accused and probe is on.The joint teams comprising drug inspector of Bijnor, Ashutosh Mishra, Rajesh Kumar from Amroha and Naresh Mohan Deepak, conducted a medical store at Noorpur city. The medical owner-Naveen Nishchal fled from the spot.The cost of the fake medicines recovered is stated to be Rs five lakhs. The medicines were sold after being labelled with company names which are not registered with the drugs department. The team took the seized medicines to Noorpur police station.According to drug inspector of Bijnor, Ashutosh Mishra, “The owner of the medical store is a whole seller and he has a license for this purpose. Physician samples and prohibited medicine were found in his store which is a big issue. We have taken ten samples which will be sent to laboratory for test. Prima facie, some medicines appear to be fake. We have filed a case against the erring person and the medical store has been sealed.”
