Posing as customers, women decamp with gold from jewellery shop; act caught on CCTV

Muzaffarnagar: In a daring robbery, three women posing as customers decamped with gold reportedly worth Rs 40 lakh from a jewellery shop on Bhagat Singh road in Muzaffarnagar. The incident was reported on Thursday evening.The mischief of the three burqa-clad women was caught on CCTV camera installed in the shop. The footage shows one of them distracting the shop owner and staff, and the other two discreetly taking out ornaments from the showcase.A police complaint was made by the shop owner and cops said that they have zeroed in on the suspects and will soon crack the case. I hope they are arrested soon and the ornaments are recovered.”Sources said that while a police complaint was made on Thursday evening, the exact quantity and value of the stolen items was added to it later. On Friday morning, Muzaffarnagar SSP Sudhir Kumar visited the shop owned by Dinesh Kumar and assured him that the women behind the robbery will soon be held.DSP Harish Bhadauria said, “A case of robbery has been registered against unidentified women and investigation has started.” Meanwhile, Dinesh Kumar said, “They took away a jewellery box which contained at least 1kg gold worth Rs 40 lakh.
