Job agents dupe 4 youths, send them to Dubai on tourist visa

Bijnor: Four youths of Sherkot region of Bijnor who dreamt of making it big by securing jobs in Dubai have landed in trouble in that country. They have discovered that the recruitment agents sent them to Dubai on a tourist visa. With no job and penniless with no means to even buy a meal for themselves for the past three days, they have taken refuge in a mosque. They have called back home, seeking help from their families.The plight of these youth was highlighted by their family members on Friday when they staged a protest at Sherkot police station, demanding action against the recruitment agents — Mohammad Faisal and Mohammad Saveel — for duping their wards. In a complaint lodged with police, they said four youths — Rohit Kumar of Jafarpur village, Vikas Kumar and Ajay Kumar from Shajadpur village and Devendra Kumar of Udaypur village — were stranded in Dubai after the job recruitment agent duped them.According to Brahampal, father of Devendra Kumar, “The two agents, Faisal and Saveel, are natives of Sherkot town. Now, Saveel is based in New Delhi, Both had taken Rs 1.30 lakh from each youth with a promise of a lucrative job in Dubai. They were told they would be paid a sum equivalent to Rs 30,000 a month. The agents then sent all the four youths to Dubai eight days ago. When they reached there, they discovered there was no job and they had been duped. When they contacted government officials in Dubai, they learnt that they had tourist visas.”Brahampal said, “The money the youth carried was spent within two or three days. They have been hungry for the past three days. They are staying in a mosque. They managed to call home on Wednesday and narrated their plight.”Jograj Singh, brother of another youth, Ajay Kumar, said, “We have filed a complaints against the agents at Sherkot police station.”Sherkot station house officer Pankaj Tomar confirmed that the complaint had been made. He said, “A probe is on. Strict action will be taken against the agents if they are found guilty.”Dismissing the allegations leveled against them as “false”, one of the agents, Faisal, told TOI, “All allegations are baseless. I am in touch with the youths in Dubai. We are trying to sort out the matter. I have spoken to the family members about them.”
