Seven months on, Bijnor government primary schools await notebooks

The exams are slated to start from October 22.There are 2,556 primary and upper primary schools in Bijnor with more than two lakh students enrolled in in them. BIJNOR: With just a week left for half-yearly exams to begin, 2.38 lakh notebooks have been delivered at the BSA’s office here but are yet to be distributed. Now, we have been informed that workbooks have arrived at the district headquarters but they are yet to be distributed.” They are entitled to free books, uniforms and midday meals.Though the academic session began in April, the students received their textbooks after five months and are still waiting for their notebooks.Talking with TOI, district coordinator, sarv shiksha abhiyan, Saleem Beg said, “We have received around 2.5 lakh notebooks which will be distributed among students soon.”Headmaster of Chandpur Feru primary school Rajendra Singh said, “We have not received workbooks so far here and students have been bringing workbooks on their own.
