Meerut: A shocking video has come to fore where former BJP Baghpat district president Sanjay Khokar’s son, along with others, was seen thrashing a youth mercilessly with lathi . The youth was rushed to a district hospital where he continues to remain critical.The incident occurred on Friday in Meerut’s Chhaprauli area. The video of the incident came to light on Sunday following which two FIRs were filed by the police after complaints from both the groups.In one FIR, Khokar’s son Akshay and four others have been booked, while in another five named men and 25 unnamed have been booked.“An FIR has been filed in the case by both the groups. One FIR is against Akshay Khokhar , Dharmendra Singh, Rohit, Ankur and one other unnamed man under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 352 (Punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation). In another FIR, filed by the Khokhars, a case has been filed against Vikas, Suraj, Nitin, Ankur, Mayank and at least 25 other unknown people under sections 147, 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 323, 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506,” said Vijay Kumar Singh, station house officer, Chaprauli police station.Former BJP district president Sanjay Khokhar has alleged that Akshay and his friends had acted in self-defence after seeing the other group causing ruckus in the area.“The video is just one side of the story. Armed men on at least 12 motorcycles and three cars entered our lane, and barged into six houses in the area. They broke window panes of a bus that was parked, and thrashed few people living in the colony. My son and others were simply reacting to them in self-defence,” he said
