Uttar Pradesh to honour 50 teachers for practicing ICT in schools

MEERUT: To encourage computer-based teaching in the state, the state government has decided to honour at least 50 teachers teaching information and computer technology (ICT) in the government schools . Earlier, Central Board of Secondary Education also recognized teachers on national level for the use of ICT in education in the backdrop of the centrally-sponsored scheme of ICT in schools. “An opportunity will also be given to the teachers to give a presentation of their smart classes,” read the order.The teachers will be honoured on December 28. A total of 87 awards were given by government of India to different states/UTs and autonomous bodies/ organizations under ministry of human resource development. The teachers have been selected by a state selection committee.“This is to bring to your notice that teachers practicing ICT in government schools are being honoured by the state government for their excellent work to improve education in government schools,” read the order issued by Abdul Mobeen , UP assistant education director.A list in this regard was sought from all the districts of Uttar Pradesh and then some of them were selected.
