Meerut: The local residents of Bulandshahr set a UP roadways bus on fire, and damaged another buss here after it crushed three men to death on Delhi-Badaun state highway under Salempur police station area on Wednesday.The villagers further blocked the highway until police force from different stations reached the spot. The accident was so severe that while two persons, Shaheed Hussan and Azaruddin, died at the spot, Rashid died in a nearby hospital.Circle officer of Shikarpur Manish Kumar Yadav said, “The incident took place on Delhi-Badaun state highway when the UP roadways bus crushed three men on a scooter to death. Soon after, the locals started stone pelting on the bus driver and set the bus ablaze. They also damaged another state roadways bus.”The three deceased were returning from their tuition classes in Bulandshahr to their Chitta village. The locals demanded quick action in the matter.“The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem and an FIR is being filed under relevant sections of the IPC against the driver. The driver is at large and efforts are being made to arrest the accused,” said Yadav.
