Meerut: A 22-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with police, alleging that she was raped, filmed, blackmailed and later forced to marry a man from the other community in Shamli. In the FIR, the woman also alleged that the man’s brother and father later gang-raped her.Police, however, said the woman’s version had many loopholes. According to them, the couple married on their will in front of judge in a court.“We have filed a case against the man, his father, brothers, sisters and brother-in-law under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 376D (gangrape). However, there are some loopholes in the case. Prima facie, we have got to know that they got married on their will in a court and the woman approached the police when their relationship soured. An investigation has been set up in the matter and all angles are being investigated,” said Kapil Gautam, station house officer, Garhi Pukhta.In the FIR, the woman claimed that she met the accused on Facebook a year and a half ago. In December 2017, he called me to a hotel in Delhi saying that he had met with an accident. On reaching there I found that he was alright. He spiked my drink and raped me there. Later, he sent me a video clip of the act and began to blackmail me,” she alleged.She claimed that after she had given him Rs 5 lakh, she was forcibly taken to his native village in Shamli and forced to get married. She also claimed that she didn’t know all this while that he was from another community. “Later his brother and father also gangraped me,” she said.The woman, originally from Allahabad, said she approached the police after she managed to flee from their house.
