Girl, lover kill her mother after being spotted together

Muzaffarnagar: An 18-year-old woman and her lover allegedly strangled her mother after the latter found them together at their house late on Saturday night, said police on Wednesday.The incident was was initially reported on Sunday as a robbery incident in which the accused daughter was found unconscious and the woman was found murdered. The police investigation, however, revealed that the girl, Neelam, and her lover allgedly killed the victim.After initial suspicion, SSP Sudhir Kumar had ordered New-Mandi police and crime branch of Muzaffarnagar to probe the case and after three days of investigation, police arrested 18-year-boy Manu, a resident of Bijnor and recovered jewelry and Neelam's mobile phone. The victim's daughter Neelam was found lying unconscious in the same room while the husband of the deceased, a lawyer by profession, was not at the residence when the incident took place.Station houses officer of New-Mandi police station, Harsharn Sharma, said: A case under Sections 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian penal code has been registered against the accused. They have been sent to jail.”
