2 Meerut teachers to be honoured for promoting computer technology

MEERUT: To encourage computer-based teaching in the state, UP government is all set to honour as many as 76 teachers practicing Information and Computer Technology (ICT) in state government schools. Out of these, two teachers are from Meerut.“A list of teachers practicing ICT in government schools was sought from all the 75 districts of UP. The list of teachers have been finalized by a state selection committee and has been increased from the previous list of 50. In this backdrop, the teachers practicing ICT in government schools are being honoured by the state government for their excellent work to improve imparting of education in government schools,” read an order issued by Abdul Mobeen, UP assistant education director.The teachers will be honoured on Saturday. It should be noted that CBSE, too, gave national awards for teachers for the use of ICT in education in the backdrop of the centrally sponsored scheme of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools.

From the given list, the teachers were further selected on the basis of the presentations that they made when they were called for it in Lucknow. In this backdrop, the teachers practicing ICT in government schools are being honoured by the state government for their excellent work to improve imparting of education in government schools,” read an order issued by Abdul Mobeen, UP assistant education director.The teachers will be honoured on Saturday. It should be noted that CBSE, too, gave national awards for teachers for the use of ICT in education in the backdrop of the centrally sponsored scheme of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools. A total 87 ICT Awards were instituted by the Centre for different states/UTs and autonomous bodies/ organizations under ministry of human resource development (HRD).From Meerut, the two shortlisted teachers are Yatika Pundir and Kausar Jahan from the primary schools at Kamalpur and Phaphunda, respectively.
