Make Varanasi, Meerut free of stray cattle, dogs by Feb 5, HC orders civic bodies

Make the entire city stray cattle free by February 5. Meerut: The Allahabad High Court has directed the municipal corporations of Varanasi and Meerut to clear the city of stray cattle and dogs within two weeks. They are spending nights in their farms to protect their crops from being destroyed by stray cattle. A division bench headed by Chief Justice Govind Mathur asked the civic agencies of the two densely-populated cities to wrap up the exercise by February 5.The order stated: “Launch a campaign for catching the stray cattle from January 20. So this order came on Thursday.”There are around 915 dairies with 27,000 cattle in them.
