Shamli man arrested from Faridabad with 9 pistols

Meerut: Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested a Shamli-based man — Shoib, 24 — from Faridabad with nine pistols and 18 magazines. The incident took place on Sunday evening in Faridabad after which an FIR was filed against Shoib and his uncle Arif in addition to the Shamli-based man whose identity has not been revealed yet. When his bag was searched nine pistols and 18 magazines were seized. Shoib had deboard the train once he reached Delhi while returning from Indore, but seeing police he again boarded it that made the team suspicious. According to police sources, Shoib and his uncle were travelling in Samta Express when checking by GRP staff led to the finding of consignment.During questioning, Shoib — a resident of Teetarwada village — confessed that he used to buy pistols from Indore and provide it to a person in Shamli .

Shoib was sent to jail.On Monday GRP got police remand of Shoib for five days and on Tuesday brought him to Teetarwada village in Shamli’s town Kairana.Faridabad’s GRP police station in charge Om Prakash said, “On Sunday evening, a team was conducting regular checking in the train. Shoib had deboard the train once he reached Delhi while returning from Indore, but seeing police he again boarded it that made the team suspicious. When his bag was searched nine pistols and 18 magazines were seized. He was arrested immediately but his uncle managed to escape.”Shoib also confessed that he used to buy the pistol from Indore for Rs 15,000 per piece and sold it for Rs 25,000 per piece.This comes days after Mohd Naeem was arrested by NIA on January 4 from neighbouring district Meerut for supplying arms to Amroha-based ISIS-inspired terror module which according to agencies were planning a terror strike in Delhi and UP.
