Muzaffarnagar: Police busted gang of drug dealers along with narcotic substance worth Rs 12 lakh on Tuesday morning here. According to police sources, besides supplying drugs to youngsters, including teenagers, the gang used to provide them with a space to consume those drugs.Police sources said drug dealers were nabbed in city’s Handia Mohalla. After they got a tip-off Nagar Kotwali police raided a premise and discovered narcotic substances like heroin and charas, and arrested two accused — Afjal Mansuri and Aftab — who have already been booked in some criminal cases.Police also recovered a small electronic weighing machine and aluminum foil paper which was being used to take drugs. They also recovered Rs 26,000 from the premises. According to SP Omveer Singh, “The accused used to provide space to consume drugs they sold. We sent a police team to this location.”According to police sources, youngsters would purchase drugs from them and paid Rs 300-500 in cash for less than one gram of heroin. Police is now trying to nab other members of the gang.Nagar Kotwali SHO Anil Kaprwan said, “The drug racket was being operated in a residential area and most of the drugs were being sold to youngsters. Initial investigation revealed that three more persons were involved who are on the run.”
