Bijnor: In another leopard attack in Bijnor, a farmer was seriously injured while he was working at his farm on Thursday morning. He was rushed to a community health centre where he is recuperating. This comes after a week when one leopard attacked cattle in a Bijnor village. Even though reports of leopards entering the human habitat have come up, forest department officials have hardly taken any measures to keep a check.The incident occurred at Inayatpur village. A 60-year-old farmer, Udal Singh, was tending his wheat crop when a leopard appeared and attacked him. Singh had injuries on his face and left hand. When he shouted for help, other farmers working in adjacent fields gathered and managed to scare away the leopard.The farmer was taken to a private hospital and is now out of danger.Villagers said that leopards have been spotted in sugarcane fields. They had informed the forest authorities but no action has been taken yet.Ranger Virendra Singh Rawat said that they are probing the matter and will soon catch the leopard and release it into the forest.
