Meerut: A day after Income Tax sleuths swooped down on establishments of six prominent doctors across UP, including Lucknow, Moradabad, Meerut and Noida, the officials have found unaccounted cash receipts, unaccounted investments, and seized cash and jewellery from the bungalow of Meerut’s famous neurologist Dr Bhupendra Chaudhary in Defence Colony and his clinic in Civil Lines area, and Dr Ankit Sharma’s GS Medical College and Hospital and Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital in Hapur.“In the raid at Dr Bhupendra Chaudhry’s residence and clinic, unaccounted cash of Rs 12 lakhs has been seized from his residence," said an I-T department official.Meanwhile, five lockers, stated to be containing jewellery, are yetv to eb opened. Also, unaccounted investments in his palatial bunglow is to be ascertained which may exceed Rs 4 crore and is a matter of investigation. Suppression of huge income in sale of medicines in Prakash Drugs Agency - which is situated inside his clinic - has also been detected,” said highly placed sources in the department.“In the raids done at Dr Ankit Sharma’s GS Medical College & Hospital, Hapur, evidences of suppression of receipts and unaccounted investments have been found. Unaccounted cash of Rs 38 lakh and jewellery of 4 kg has also been found. Two lockers found are yet to be operated and are a part of investigation,” officials said.The raids, which started on Thursday morning 8am, and investigation of what was found at the spot continued till Friday late night. Officials said that more details will be shared once investigation is completed.
