MEERUT: Height had always been a nagging issue for Abdul Kalam. While Tarannum is a resident of Nangla village in Muzaffarnagar’s Budhana town, Kalam hails from Chaitella village in Muzaffarnagar . MEERUT: Height had always been a nagging issue for Abdul Kalam. At just two feet and facing the challenges of life that this ‘disability’ brought along, the 24-year-old had never expected to find a suitable girl with whom he could walk down the aisle.Then, his family found Tarannum. The day he met her, both of them knew they were made for each other.They got married as per Muslim rituals in Ambheta Rindan village of Shamli Although Taranum was three years older, she was just an inch taller than Kalam.Last week, when they tied the knot , it was the one to dwarf all weddings in Shamli. People in their villages made a beeline to witness the occasion. While Tarannum is a resident of Nangla village in Muzaffarnagar’s Budhana town, Kalam hails from Chaitella village in Muzaffarnagar . They got married as per Muslim rituals in Ambheta Rindan village of Shamli.Neither Tarannum nor I have any job as no job is fit for us because of our heights. At present, we are dependent on our family for our financial needs.Giving details how their families got to know about Abdul Kalam, Tarannum’s maternal uncle Yaseen, said: “My sister Jareefe and her daughter Tarannum have been living with me ever since Jareefe’s husband passed away years ago. Abdul Kalam’s parents are my friends and one day when they were home to visit me, they saw Tarannum. That very moment, his father told me that his son, too, was short in height — just like Tarannum. That day we thought that this match was indeed made in heaven and it was a sign that the two of them should get married.”“Neither Tarannum nor I have any job as no job is fit for us because of our heights.
