1 killed in group clash over kite flying in Muzaffarnagar

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A clash between two groups over kite flying took communal colour, leaving one person dead and five injured at Chatrela village of the district on Monday. Raids are being conducted to nab all offenders.” When asked about the cause of Raj Kumar’s death, he said: "No wound on the body was found. Soon, the tussle escalated and over a dozen men forcibly entered Raj Kumar’s house that led to a full-blown clash between two families.Raj Kumar got critically injured in the clash and later died while being taken to hospital. His wife and four others were injured.As the information about the clash spread, PAC and police personnel were deployed in the area. We also recommended further compensation Rs 5 lakh from Mukaymantri Rahat Kosh,” SDM said.

A team of PAC has been deployed in the village and 10 persons booked.According to police, family members of Raj Kumar , 60, were flying kite from their roof when they entered into an argument with youths from another house belonging to the other community. Soon, the tussle escalated and over a dozen men forcibly entered Raj Kumar’s house that led to a full-blown clash between two families.Raj Kumar got critically injured in the clash and later died while being taken to hospital. His wife and four others were injured.As the information about the clash spread, PAC and police personnel were deployed in the area. On Tuesday, Raj Kumar was cremated under heavy police protection while one of the 10 accused Munnawar was arrested.According to sources, after a minor spate between children over kite-flying on Monday afternoon, elders from both sides confronted each others in the late evening and one group allegedly entered Raj Kumar' house and attacked the family. Those injured in the clash were Raj Kumar’s wife Rajwati Devi and other family members Jagawati Devi (50), Babita (40), Parveen (30) and Aditya (25).A case was registered after a complaint filed by Raj Kumar’s son Vikas Kumar against 10 people for murder, rioting, using deadly weapons , unlawful assembly and trespassing.SP Sudhir Kumar said: “There is peace in the village now and we have deployed enough police force. Raids are being conducted to nab all offenders.” When asked about the cause of Raj Kumar’s death, he said: "No wound on the body was found. We will confirm the cause once post mortem report is out.”SDM of the area, Kumar Bhupendra, said: "The administration hsa given Rs 6.05 lakh to the deceased’s family under different heads. We also recommended further compensation Rs 5 lakh from Mukaymantri Rahat Kosh,” SDM said.
