Six die, four hurt on after UP roadways bus hits auto

Meerut: Atleast six people including a woman and two school children – died on Garh Mukteshwar-Meerut road in Hapur — after a UP roadways bus rammed into an auto. The incident took place in Paupaai village on Friday afternoon.The incident took place when a speeding UP roadways bus coming from Meerut hit an auto near Paupaai village here. The auto was crushed with such intensity that all the six occupants of the auto died on the spot. He is at large as of now but efforts are being made to arrest him,” said Agarwal. Four others – who were passengers of the bus – got seriously injured and are recuperating at a hospital here.Ajay Kumar Agarwal, station house officer, Garh Kotwali police station along with other police personnel reached the spot and began the identification of the deceased.

The deceased were identified as Anmol, Siddhant – both were Class X students, Gaurav, Bhram Kaur, Mudafra and Haroon.Soon after the accident, angry villagers blocked the road and set up a jam on the route which was cleared only after sub divisional magistrate Ram Murthi Tripathi and Circle Officer Ashok Kumar reached the spot.“The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem and the driver of the bus has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He is at large as of now but efforts are being made to arrest him,” said Agarwal.
